Rich and rustic: Inside Cape Town’s Honest Chocolate café

Honest Chocolate is a rustic-looking café in Cape Town with rich hot chocolates and a wide variety of other chocolate treats.

The cute little café is located on Wale St in Cape Town City Centre, which is pretty central if you’re staying in the city of Cape Town itself. The café has a beautiful rustic theme on the outside section, which is perfect for photos or just to take in the view itself.

The one thing that sets Honest Chocolate apart from other cafes is that the café offers a variety of hot chocolates. This includes Mexican spices, Christmas orange, Biscoffi spread, Peanut butter bomb, Almond choco spread, real mocha (includes coffee). These speciality hot chocolates range from R52 to R60. There is also an intense chocolate option, this is just dark chocolate, no milk, priced at around R40.

I wasn’t feeling so adventurous and opted for just the original and I can safely say I should have went for something sweeter. If you love dark chocolate then this is ideal for you. However, if you have a sweet tooth, like me, you should try one of the sweeter options because I felt the original a little too bitter.

But, do you know what wasn’t bitter? The chocolate cheesecake, topped with caramelised nuts. Take a look…
