She went on to say that it took her 11 years of hard work to get to where she is today.
“It comes as a surprise that everything that is happening in my life right now is because of 11 years of hard work. None of this happened overnight, but also I think it’s really important for anyone listening out there to know that I know what it’s like not to have,” she said.
INSPIRED BY HER MOM
DJ Lamiez revealed that when she was studying, her mom had gotten retrenched and her dad’s business wasn’t doing so well.
“My DJ’ing, before TV presenting and radio, I started DJ’ing and that’s who I am, before anything else. And how I started DJ’ing was because… my mom got retrenched, my dad’s business was going through the most. So, there was no money for me to further my studies.,” she said.
“And in 2010, my mom sat me down, because she knew how frustrated I was… and this was around the time my migraines started, I suffer from chronic migraines. So, I am in pain everyday of my life, but I go on,” she continued.
DJ Lamiez then revealed that her DJ career was actually her mom’s idea.
“My mom knew I loved music and DJ’ing was actually her idea, as crazy as it is,” she said. She then explained that her mom told her to start DJ’ing in 2010 and told her in a year’s time she would send her back to school,” she said.
DJ Lamiez went on to explain that her mom has managed from back then until now. She also encouraged women to go for whatever they want, regardless of age
“I think it’s important for anyone listening to know that age aside…never put yourself under pressure. Because I see with a lot of women, you know who feel like they’re getting old and are too afraid to start over. You know they are too afraid of taking that leap of faith and starting something new,” she added.
